The project contains a grant two-tiered grant-giving scheme that will be carried out throughout the action.
The first tier will include the provisioning of small grants to 15 local CSOs who have completed the first phase of the Sustainability Academy capacity building program. The primary objective of the first grant is to cover the required expenses for participating CSOs to implement their community project ideas in their communities, with the aim of ensuring greater citizen participation and influence in policy and decision making at the local governance level.
The second tier will include the provisioning of small grants to at least 4 local CSO coalitions. The primary objective of the second grant is to cover the required expenses for each CSO coalition to implement wider advocacy actions, with the aim of ensuring greater citizen participation and influence in policy and decision making at the local and central governance level. The project partners will provide matching grants to CSO coalitions provided they are able to fundraise 25% of the total project costs from local sources.
